Our Story
How it all started
What began as a small neighborhood gathering in 2001 has grown into one of Utah's most anticipated cultural events. Festival Latinoamericano was founded to create a space where the Latin American community could share their heritage with neighbors and friends.
Over the years, the festival has become a cornerstone of Provo's cultural calendar, drawing tens of thousands of visitors every Labor Day weekend to celebrate with food, music, dance, and art from across Latin America.
2001
A neighborhood party is born
A small group of community members organizes the first Latin American cultural celebration in Provo.
2003
Moving to Pioneer Park
Growing attendance leads to a new, larger venue with space for more vendors and performers.
2006
A permanent home
The festival finds its permanent home on University Avenue, becoming a Provo tradition.
2026
25th anniversary
A milestone celebration marking 25 years of bringing Latin American culture to Utah Valley.
